Glen Oaks Elopement in Big Sur

Glen Oaks is the perfect place to stay if you’re planning to elope in Big Sur and you want to incorporate the redwoods into your day. This property features a variety of cottages and cabins nestled under the trees and access to the Big Sur River just steps away. I was so excited when Laurene and Eric told me they booked a cabin here for their elopement!

Together we planned a day that allowed them to really enjoy the place and take advantage of all that it offered. After Laurene finished her hair and makeup we did a fun mini-photoshoot in the outdoor bathtub, where they popped some champagne and shared oreo cakesters - their own personal version of wedding cake. Then Laurene and Eric put on their wedding outfits and helped each other finish getting ready before we went off to explore the property. We walked through the redwoods, checked out the suspension bridge, and hung out by the river, enjoying the beautiful weather and even more beautiful scenery around us.

The day felt so relaxed and stress free because we planned extra time between “events” - I think that really made a huge difference in the overall experience! We even had enough time to order a pizza and eat before we left Glen Oaks and drove out to the cliffs for sunset. Although the sun ended up disappearing by the time we got there, we had the best time wandering along the moody Big Sur coast enjoying the quietness the cold and gloom brought us.
