Point Dume Natural Preserve is my favorite engagement session location in Malibu for couples who love the beach but want to capture it from a different perspective. There is an actual beach next to Point Dume that you can visit and hang out at, but the cliffs overlooking the water are what really make this location special! From the street, it looks like the preserve is just a trail that runs through a grassy field and up a hill, but once you get over that hill the view, is incredible. Walking along the cliffs will lead you to the “point” which is a long bluff jutting out into the ocean. From that spot you look in either direction and see the beaches along the coastline - seeing this at sunrise or sunset is a really magical thing.

McKenzie and Eric

A beautiful sunrise spent with these two capturing photos to celebrate their recent engagement. There were only a couple of other people on the cliffs this morning so it felt really peaceful and extra magical. I love the soft colors of the water and sky and the way the sun slowly warmed up the landscape as it rose over the horizon. Highly recommend sunrise engagements in Malibu!

Peggy and Kyle

When Peggy and Kyle first reached out to me, they told me they wanted engagement photos in nature that felt romantic and full of laughter. Their session at Point Dume was exactly that. These two just radiate joy and capturing them together was such a fun time!

Selina and Jack were one of my 2019 wedding couples and their Point Dume engagement photos are still some of my most popular pins on Pinterest. The day we did their session was about as perfect as it could get — beautiful weather, a golden sunset, and lots of pretty wildflowers in bloom.
