Downtown Los Angeles Proposal

One of my last sessions of 2019 was this Downtown Los Angeles proposal and it was such an awesome way to end the year! Brandon reached out and told me that he’d been in the process of making a custom ring for Shannon, his girlfriend of 7 years, and he was hoping to propose soon. Luckily, I had the date he was interested in open and he already had a game plan!

A few weeks before, they were all set to go to Shannon’s work holiday party - she got a new dress and had an appointment for her makeup and everything - but she woke up the morning of feeling terrible and unfortunately they weren’t able to attend. Brandon used this as the base of his plan — he told Shannon he had wanted to surprise her with a photoshoot before the party so that they could send out Christmas cards to their family and friends but since she got sick that day, he rescheduled the shoot so they could at least send out cards at the start of the new year. I knew his story was convincing because when we met up on the day of the shoot, Shannon apologized for having to cancel on me the first time LOL. I just went with it and we began the session like normal!

After a few minutes, I told them I wanted to try something more “artsy” and positioned them away from each other — this was the proposal cue! When I told them to turn around and walk toward each, they embraced, Brandon proposed, and she said yes, of course!

It was so much fun to share this exciting moment with these two!
