Downtown Los Angeles Rooftop Proposal

This rooftop proposal in Downtown Los Angeles was such a special moment to capture and be a part of and I’m so excited to finally share all the photos here!!

Kim and Kris are from Belgium and had a trip planned to Los Angeles (and a few other places) so Kim’s sister gifted them a photoshoot from me while they were here! What Kim didn’t know was that Kris was planning to propose during that shoot! After Kim’s sister reached out about booking the shoot, Kris and I got in contact and began planning everything from the location, to how he was going to ask, and when to expect the MOMENT.

We ultimately decided on this rooftop downtown (as you can tell lol) and I think it was the perfect choice!! The view of the Downtown Los Angeles Skyline from here is amazing and at sunrise the light was so soft and pretty. The fact that there was no one else around and we had the rooftop to ourselves was also an added perk! Kris decided he didn’t want any specific cues or for me to “set up” the proposal so I started off the session like I normally would and eagerly waited for him to decide the moment was right. Between prompts, Kris grabbed Kim’s hands and began speaking quietly to her and I realized what was happening. I was shaking from excitement and smiling SO hard behind my camera as I snapped away.

If you haven’t already guessed,

SHE SAID YES.

I get so happy just looking back at these photos and seeing her reaction and how excited they both were. Proposals are seriously my FAVORITE thing to capture because there’s so much happy energy and seeing couples in their first few moments of being #engaged is just so cool.

I asked Kim later if she suspected the proposal at all and she said the only thing that kind of gave it away was the fact that Kris didn’t complain about getting up so early for a photoshoot hahahaha.
