Intimate Palm Springs Wedding at the Living Desert Zoo and Gardens
Kat and Roderic’s intimate Palm Springs wedding was an actual desert dream! They got married at the Living Desert Zoo and although the grounds are beautiful with lots of plant filled gardens and an epic mountain backdrop, one of the main reasons they chose this place for their wedding was because of how much they love the zoo’s mission to educate about animals and the environment. Kat and Roderic are both passionate about those things personally (Roderic works in Marine Conservation) so the zoo was a perfect fit for them. Besides that, they are all around some of the sweetest and kindest people I’ve ever met so it was such a joy to work with them and be their photographer! I felt so loved and appreciated all day by not only them but their families as well. I can’t tell you how much this means to me and it just makes me love my job more and more.
The ceremony was definitely my favorite part of the day! Kat looked so beautiful and happy as she walked down the aisle with her dad and Roderic couldn’t hold back the tears when he saw her. There were so many emotional moments and laughs as they shared their vows with all of their families and closest friends. Also - can we just mention the setup for a sec?? Roderic’s mom is an incredible florist and designed the prettiest boho ceremony space for them!
After officially saying “I do”, we snuck off to say hello to one of the zoo’s porcupines (a fun little experience that they surprised their guests with) and then explored a little more of the desert area for their couples portraits.
