Intimate Yosemite Valley Wedding

Yosemite National Park has been a special place to Molly and Dylan throughout their relationship so getting married here was a decision that made sense in the best way possible. Their wedding day was simple and relaxed, yet intentional and thoughtfully planned to include the people and things they love. It was a day that truly felt like THEM.

They spent the morning getting ready at the historic Ahwahnee Hotel, which is located right in Yosemite Valley. We planned for plenty of time for them to hang out with their loved ones and get ready without feeling rushed or stressed before we went off to adventure around the park. It was perfect.

Their ceremony was officiated by Dylan’s brother at Cathedral Beach, a beautiful spot along the river with a view of El Capitan towering above them. After a post-ceremony toast, their family surprised them with a cute “just married” sign on their van and then we drove to El Capitan meadow for their sunset happy hour. This was such a fun and unique part of their day that I just loved. They brought camp chairs and a cooler full of their favorite drinks and they spent the evening hanging out and watching the climbers up on El Cap.

When the sun started to dip below the trees, I snuck off with Molly and Dylan for some sunset photos in the meadow to wrap up the most beautiful day.

Molly & Dylan’s testimonial after working with me:

Carrie is such a wonderful talent.

My husband and I both work in the creative industry in Los Angeles, Dylan is actually also a professional photographer. Because of that, we both had extremely high expectations for our wedding photographer. After choosing to have a simpler day, having gorgeous pictures to share with family & friends was probably the most important element of our wedding aside from our location.

Just a quick scan through Carrie's instagram and I knew she was the one I wanted. From the get go, Carrie understood our vision and was flexible & easy to work with.

Choosing to elope can be an emotional and difficult decision, as ultimately you choose a day that is close to your heart, but that may leave out family or friends that were hoping to be involved. Throughout our planning process, Carrie was understanding as we flip flopped from being totally alone to having a few of our most important people there.

Day of, Carrie has a kind but quiet presence. She was able to blend into our intimate group effortlessly and got gorgeous photos of our mellow day very discretely.

Her communication and delivery are on point. She got the stunning instagram portrait shots I wanted, the gorgeous landscapes my husband wanted, and at the same time was happy to accommodate more traditional "family" photos for our parents.

If you are planning on an intimate or elopement style day in a gorgeous location, we can't recommend Carrie enough!
