Cap Rock Engagement Session

After photographing Katie and Jack’s engagement session at Cap Rock, I am bumping this location up as one of my favorites in Joshua Tree National Park! Cap Rock trail is less than half a mile long and is almost completely flat so it’s super accessible and it has a variety in scenery — from boulder piles that are fun to climb on, to fields of Joshua Trees, and open desert with mountains in the background. For Katie and Jack’s session, we incorporated all of the above into their photos and I’m so so excited about the gallery we created together. They showed up with a few ideas of their own but also had complete trust in me so the session really felt like a collaboration of efforts resulting in some of my favorite photos ever.

Here’s what Katie and Jack wrote about their experience working with me:

“I found Carrie while scrolling through Pinterest looking at inspiration for some overdo engagement photos. Her style was exactly what I was looking to embody.
After initially contacting her (she communicates promptly) I knew it was a good match and I didn't even go ahead and contact other photographers on my list. She totally understood my vision after I shared my inspiration pictures with her and truly delivered the most wonderful, dreamy photos that I could have asked for - I am beyond obsessed. If you feel awkward in front of a camera, don't worry, she will give you cues and take all the guesswork out for you to make all poses seem as natural as possible. Also her photoshoot guides are amazing! She was a joy to work with and we hope to be able to work with her again soon!”
