Malibu Airbnb Elopement with Golden Hour Portraits on the Coast

Nicole and Jamie - Malibu Elopement

When Nicole and Jamie had to cancel their original wedding plans a second time due to COVID, they decided that instead of waiting any longer to get married, they would elope in Malibu! They rented a big airbnb along the coast and spent the morning getting ready with their best friends and siblings, and during their ceremony they were joined via zoom by some of their other loved ones. Nicole and Jamie chose not to see each other before the ceremony so it was a super fun and special moment when Jamie finally got to see his beautiful bride for the first time - I seriously think his reaction is one of my favorites I’ve ever seen!

From the moment they joined each other, I don’t think either of them stopped smiling all day. I remember Nicole describing their relationship as them being best friends who are very much in love and I can verify that this was a 100% accurate description. I witnessed more smiles, laughs, and sweet looks between these two than you would think was possible in a few hours.

Check out some of my favorite memories from the day down below!

Nicole and Jamie’s Testimonial:

I absolutely loved working with Carrie from start to finish. My husband and I had postponed our Chicago wedding twice due to covid and we decided to elope in Malibu. I am so glad we found Carrie when we did! Not only was I blown away by her artistic abilities but her kindness as well. She sent us recommendations (many of which we used) and helped make our Malibu dream vision come to life. On the day of the wedding, she was right on time and helped me and our family make some quick decisions on where I should walk out and how to set up the ceremony area. From the start, we told Carrie that getting first look photos was important to us, and boy, did she deliver. My husband's face is priceless and I am so thankful we have that memory. My husband & I don't take many photos so naturally, we were nervous leading up to it, but you'd never be able to tell. Carrie was able to capture our joy in a way I have seldom seen. It felt easy, natural, and fun! Because many of our family members couldn't attend, the photos meant more than anything - we wanted to share the day with everyone as best as we could. Our families all said they were the most beautiful photos they've ever seen - many even shed tears! I still can't pick my favorite because there are too many good ones to choose from! Carrie is such a gifted photographer but she is also a great person. We can't thank her enough for giving us the precious gift of memories we will cherish forever. I couldn't recommend her more.
