Griffith Observatory Sunrise Engagement Session

Sunrise is the perfect time to visit the Griffith Observatory because:
1. wayyy less crowded
2. free parking before they open

See below for photographic proof of number 3.

Michael + Kelly - OUE Skyspace Proposal

Michael contacted me early in July saying that he wanted to propose to his girlfriend, Kelly, and have me capture it. His first idea was to do it at the Griffith Observatory on a Saturday at sunset, but if you've ever been to the Griffith Observatory on a Saturday at sunset then you probably know why we decided not to do that haha (crowded AF). We went over a few other options and decided that hiking to a view of the city wouldn't be the best either since Kelly would most likely be wearing heels. That's when Michael suggested the Skyspace Observatory. 70 floors up above the streets with an amazing view of downtown LA - okay PERFECT!! After switching dates around in order to make sure we got the time slot at Skyspace with the best light, we finally had a plan in place.

I brought my boyfriend, Jesse, along with me on this shoot so he could get some video footage of the proposal and he was just as excited about everything going on as I was haha! We arrived early to get to the sky deck and met Will (on the guitar + singing) and a couple of Michael and Kelly's loved ones who were also helping out with the surprise. As you can see in the photos below, the sunset was AMAZING - we were all getting so hyped for the soon-to-be engaged couple to arrive. The part of the deck where we were was sectioned off from the rest, but a crowd started to form at the rope once people realized something exciting was about to happen. So like, EVERYONE was READY.

When we finally got the heads up that Michael and Kelly had just got off the elevator, we all got in our places. The doors opened and out they walked. Kelly had the biggest smile on her face and I'm pretty sure everyone else on the deck mirrored that smile on their faces too. Michael got down on his knee and proposed, Kelly cried a little, (we all cried a little LOL), then when Michael stood back up and they kissed, they got a huge round of applause from all the onlookers. It was incredible.

Congrats again, Michael and Kelly!!

(Disclaimer: he's not a professional videographer and this is his first time filming something like this. But he really enjoyed it, so maybe in the future we'll get to be a photo/video team hehe)

Peyton + Kalyl - Franklin Canyon Couples Shoot

Hey you, thanks for reading my blog!! I don't normally start out my blogs like this but I'm doing an experiment to see how many people actually read these things hahaha. SOO when you finish scrolling through these photos, give the post a "like" (it doesn't tell me who the likes are from, just how many, so don't worry I won't know who you are) and if you're coming from IG and don't mind revealing your identity, comment a BEAR emoji on my last post to let me know you saw this!

Anyways, thanks for playing along, now here's what I have to say about the photoshoot this post is actually for:

It's one of my favorites. Like I'm very much obsessed with how cute these two are together! I also have all the heart eyes for this location. Just look at that golden grass, the lake, and those awesome freaking trees all over the place. AND I GUESS we can talk about that sunset too!! Creeping through the trees all warm and cozy like God shining his love right down on us. Okay idk if that analogy works but whatever. You get the point. It was an awesome sunset that made me squeal a little. Scroll down to see some of my very favorite photos I've ever taken.

Neha + Amit - Santa Monica Beach Couples Shoot

Gloomy morning at the beach + cutie couple + perfect outfits = THIS.

This was Neha and Amit's first shoot together, but they killed every single shot and were just so fun to shoot with!! I included like a million photos here because I have so many favorites. Scroll down to see!

Bianca + Anthony - Ascot Hills Sunset Shoot

If you look up "best sunset spots in LA" Ascot Hills will almost always be a top recommendation in whatever article you click on -- and for good reason!! There are a couple different trails you can take to get up to a higher point that will give you an awesome place to catch the sunset and an amazing view of downtown LA. Anthony and Bianca are such a sweet couple and I loved photographing them.

It's not unusual that a lot of guys really aren't into doing photoshoots and Anthony admitted that at first he wasn't excited but when we were finishing up he said "this was kind of fun". Probably one of my favorite things to hear haha. I always try to make things as easy-going and fun as possible and if you're worried about having a photoshoot where the photographer tells you to smile at them the whole time, just know that's not how it will be with me! (can't say I won't encourage a lot of PDA though ;) )

Keep scrolling to see my favorites.

Mason + Miranda - Point Dume Proposal

Okay, so ANOTHER proposal story. I hope you guys like these because they're my favorite!! These two are from Minnesota and Mason surprised Miranda with tickets to Malibu the day before he planned to propose at this rad location. Obviously she didn't know about the proposal part, but she found out soon enough ;)

I had never been to Point Dume before and I usually hate shooting in the middle of the day (sorry I love my golden hour) so I was a little nervous about finding a good spot that wasn't crowded and if the light was going to be too harsh BUT everything turned out pretty perfect in the end. I got there early to scope things out, decided this spot on the edge of the cliff would be awesome and Mason was down for the idea, so I just waited for them to show up!

Once at the spot, Mason asked someone for a cell phone photo of the two of them and after a quick snap he got down on one knee and you know how the rest goes... (hint: she said YES). Scroll down to see the photos!

Matt + Wendy - El Matador Beach Proposal

I've been trying to write this blog for like two days and I've decided that Wendy did a much better job of explaining the story than I can LOL.

Basically, Matt planned this "photoshoot" for Wendy that would eventually turn into an engagement session after he surprised her by jumping in during the shoot and PROPOSING. It was really fun to be a part of the surprise even though I was nervous about giving it away the whole time haha. Scroll down to see some of the photos!!

And check out Wendy's blog here.

Ally - Greenhouse Shoot + Imperial Sand Dunes

I was originally going to write 2 separate blogs for these shoots because they're from different days and different locations but since I'm months behind on posting (as per usual), I'm clumping them together here. But hey - you get to enjoy more photos of Ally all at once and I get to check blogging 2 shoots off my to-do list. Win win.

Anyways, if you know me you know I'm obsessed with plants and if you've ever shot with me then I've probably positioned you next to (or completely inside) a bush or some kind of green grassy thing. So like a greenhouse is basically heaven to me and I was super excited to shoot here with Ally. We took some photos inside, out by the huge planters in the parking lot, and then walked around the neighborhood a little bit for a few shots while the sun was going down. Below are some of my favorites!

These next photos are from a fun little trip we took to the Imperial Sand Dunes! Ally was a champ being the only model and having 3 photogs with their cameras in her face the whole time. Also there was the wind. And the sand. We all ate so much sand and each at one point had to run around chasing our belongings that kept blowing away hahaha. Fun times. This is honestly still one of my favorite locations ever and I can't wait to go back again.

Maddy + Michael - Vasquez Rocks

Vasquez Rocks is a location I've been wanting to shoot at for months and I couldn't have found a more perfect couple to photograph there. Maddy and Micheal were so fun and even though it was super cold and gloomy they killed it!

I had a really hard time narrowing these down to just a few so here are a million photos from this session because they're all my favorite!
