adventurous elopement

Point Dume Elopement Inspiration | Malibu Photographer

Point Dume is hands down my top favorite place to shoot in Malibu. The first time I was here, I photographed a proposal (click here to see those photos), and I KNEW I had to come back again soon so I decided to use this location for a styled elopement shoot. I asked Jordan if she and her boyfriend would be down to model for me, Simran offered to do makeup, and the Casablanca Bridal team let us borrow one of their dresses. We kept everything else pretty simple (no elaborate tablescape or anything) but I couldn’t be happier with how it all turned out!

Jordan is already gorgeous, but after Simran worked her makeup magic and she put on the dress, she looked amazinggggg (and of course Alex looked great too haha). The light was nice and dreamy even when we first arrived, and it just kept getting better and better as the sun continued to go down. We made our way to the cliffs that run along the edge of the coast, shot at a few spots as we went, and then eventually all stopped to kind of just take in the sunset. Scroll down to see for yourself just how pretty is was.

Joshua Tree Boho Styled Elopement | California Elopement Photographer

Joshua Tree National Park is the PERFECT backdrop for a romantic desert elopement and the sunsets there are some of the most amazing I’ve ever seen. These photos are the best proof I can give you!

Zo’e is a model babe for real for real but I think we can all agree her husband Mike is also a model?! I love the hashtag she’s been using on instagram: #getmikeysigned hahaha. Seriously, they were just amazing to photograph together and so much fun!! Oh, and the FLOWERS. Ale created the dreamiest floral arrangements that complimented the desert colors and the overall theme of our shoot so perfectly!! *heart eyes*

Want photos like this but don’t want to miss out on spending your wedding day with all your friends and family? Schedule an adventure session sometime after your wedding (or before — early first look, anyone??) in an epic location that’s special to the two of you! Any excuse to put your dress back on is a good idea, right??

Santa Barbara Elopement - Taylor + Braden

Taylor and Braden are definitely #adventurouscouples GOALS. They’ve been all over the world together basically and got engaged at Machu Picchu after hiking a 26 mike Inca Trail!! This was a fun detail that we even incorporated into a few of their photos!

After being together for over 8 and a half years (!!) they decided to have an intimate ceremony at the beautiful Santa Barbara Courthouse with just a small group of family members in attendance. I had so much fun photographing them (and their family - silly photos below for evidence of their fun-ness lol) in various spots around the Courthouse and then at one of the beaches nearby. Scroll down to see some of my favorites from the day.

Wendell + Naela - Palm Springs Engagement Session

This was one of the most fun engagement sessions I've ever had! Jesse came with me for the road trip and we hopped in the car with these two as soon as we met up and drove around to find a few spots to take photos (with a slushy stop in between). It was sooo hot (as can be expected from a desert town in mid-summer) but we still managed to get some great shots and had an awesome time too! We ended the night with sushi and drinks and Wendell and Naela showed us around the downtown area. Pretty perfect first Palm Springs experience if you ask me. Hopefully we all get to hang out together again soon!!

Peyton + Kalyl - Franklin Canyon Couples Shoot

Hey you, thanks for reading my blog!! I don't normally start out my blogs like this but I'm doing an experiment to see how many people actually read these things hahaha. SOO when you finish scrolling through these photos, give the post a "like" (it doesn't tell me who the likes are from, just how many, so don't worry I won't know who you are) and if you're coming from IG and don't mind revealing your identity, comment a BEAR emoji on my last post to let me know you saw this!

Anyways, thanks for playing along, now here's what I have to say about the photoshoot this post is actually for:

It's one of my favorites. Like I'm very much obsessed with how cute these two are together! I also have all the heart eyes for this location. Just look at that golden grass, the lake, and those awesome freaking trees all over the place. AND I GUESS we can talk about that sunset too!! Creeping through the trees all warm and cozy like God shining his love right down on us. Okay idk if that analogy works but whatever. You get the point. It was an awesome sunset that made me squeal a little. Scroll down to see some of my very favorite photos I've ever taken.

Mason + Miranda - Point Dume Proposal

Okay, so ANOTHER proposal story. I hope you guys like these because they're my favorite!! These two are from Minnesota and Mason surprised Miranda with tickets to Malibu the day before he planned to propose at this rad location. Obviously she didn't know about the proposal part, but she found out soon enough ;)

I had never been to Point Dume before and I usually hate shooting in the middle of the day (sorry I love my golden hour) so I was a little nervous about finding a good spot that wasn't crowded and if the light was going to be too harsh BUT everything turned out pretty perfect in the end. I got there early to scope things out, decided this spot on the edge of the cliff would be awesome and Mason was down for the idea, so I just waited for them to show up!

Once at the spot, Mason asked someone for a cell phone photo of the two of them and after a quick snap he got down on one knee and you know how the rest goes... (hint: she said YES). Scroll down to see the photos!
